The holidays are quickly approaching - can you believe it’s almost 2021?!

This holiday season, it’s more important than ever to shop small and support local businesses as they work through the COVID-19 pandemic.

With 2020 being so dim, it’s nice to have some bright spots on the calendar - you can safely shop at local holiday pop-up shops or gift an experience-based gift that will add some smiles to someone’s 2021 schedule!

In-person shopping and market experiences

Please note that these events are scheduled to take place as of November 12, 2020 - they may be subject to change due to COVID-19 restrictions. Always check with the event page before heading out!

With various local vendors housed under one roof, you can find anything from Cleveland-themed glassware and apparel to jewelry and stationary - this pop-up shop has you covered. Stop in the store Tuesday-Sunday or order online for a curbside pickup!

On November 20-21, shop your heart out at this indoor, ticketed event. With more than 20 vendors, this cozy winter market will bring you a one-stop-shop to support local vendors.

Hosted by Made Cleveland, this pop-up market will be hosted on November 28, Small Business Saturday! The ticketed event will follow COVID guidelines to ensure you can shop small safely.

Find the perfect farm-fresh gift at the North Union Farmers Market on December 5. Local artists, vendors, and farmers will be present to allow you to find a one-of-a-kind holiday gift.

Gift a Cleveland Experience

A Bird’s Eye View: See Ohio from the skies with a hot air balloon ride from Heaven Bound Ascension - with launch sites in Tallmadge, Rootstown, Ravenna, and Stow. These gift certificates are good for two years from the date of purchase, which gives plenty of time to plan the perfect day!

Candle Making for Christmas: Cleveland Candle Co. offers gift certificates for their locations, allowing you to create your own signature candle scent. I’ve made everything from a hazelnut pumpkin latte candle to a maple butter coffee candle and love them both!

Blowing Off Steam: Create a custom glass piece at Glass Bubble Project in Ohio City. Their glass blowing classes allow guests to create anything from sun catchers to vases and bowls. Create a custom piece of stained glass at The Glass Studio in Avon for a sophisticated touch on your glass goods. Get creative this holiday season!

Chuggin along through Cleveland: Gift a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Excursion experiences include daytime Fall Flyer rides, Ales on Rails beer tasting rides, Grape Escape wine tasting rides, and more!

Swinging through the Trees: Give the gift of adventure with a Go Ape! gift card. With a tree-top adventure course and axe throwing experiences, this is a great gift for adrenaline junkies in your life.

Cleveland Cooks: With kitchens in Ohio City and Chagrin Falls, Stir Studio Kitchen offers cooking classes and workshops for those who want to find their way around a kitchen.

The Gift of Art: Purchase a membership to the Cleveland Museum of Art or Museum of Contemporary Art for a gift that truly keeps on giving.

Speeding through 2021: Looking to speed up time? Gift the gift of speed with a giftcard to Boss Pro Karting for a high-speed go-karting experience or take it to the (mountain) bike lane with a trip to Ray’s Indoor Bike Park. Looking to really boost the adrenaline? Book a race on Nelson Ledges Road Course for a high-speed holiday gift.

Wine Your Way into the New Year: Gift a ride on the Lake Erie Wine Shuttle, hosted by The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake. With a variety of tour options, you get lake front views, great wine, and a safe ride around Ohio's wine country.

Have you been gifted a unique experience around the city?! Let me know - I'd love to share more of the amazing experiences Cleveland has to offer.
