FIND MY FREELANCE WORK

While I love my blog, I also love writing for other publications around Cleveland! Freelancing is so fun and gives me an opportunity to meet some of the amazing people around the city.

"This Is the Story of Northeast Ohio’s Modern-Day Witch"

A profile on Miranda Scott and her store Coven, a metaphysical and magical provisions shop in Lakewood.

"While we aren’t burned anymore in the way witches used to by physically burned at stake, I think society still burns women in a lot of ways. We’re living under so much pressure. Witchcraft is simply a divine feminine awakening. It’s a way for women to reclaim their lives and their power.”

"Stranger Things: Lakewood is bringing the quirk with two offbeat new retail shops"

A feature on niche shops Cleveland Curiosities and Coven.

“There’s just this misconception that people who own oddity shops must be bad people, but we’re not. We love this stuff, and we love when people are open-minded to it,” Wallace says. “I’ve seen kids eyes light up when they see something like a cow’s eyeball in a jar and it’s an awesome experience for us.”

News5 Cleveland

For a few months after my college graduation, I worked for WEWS News5 Cleveland as a Digital Content Producer. I wrote more than 100 articles in a few months, covering anything from adorable baby Cavs fans and Cleveland's birthday to the release of new Barbies.

This was the longest standing freelance position I've had and it was so much fun working in a professional newsroom!

"A Gem in the Quarries: Guiding Ghana's Youth Through Education"

A feature on Lila MacQueen Djaba of Ghana, who founded Lila's Childcare Foundation in the quarries of her country.

"Within the walls of the office inside of a teal and white make-shift two building schoolhouse with no formal address on Awoshie Road in Anyaa Sowutuom, the sounds of the soft explosions and the constant cracking of sheetrock are masked by the sounds of pure joy: children dancing, singing, laughing, running and reciting their lessons from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Lila’s Child Care Foundation."
